Historic Charleston and the Surrounding Islands!  A noted International hotspot, Charleston has become the place to live, work and play.  Tourists come from all parts of the globe to savor local cuisine prepared by the chefs of Charleston in from traditional to eclectic - and so many choices!  Shopping can be a full time pastime here. The downtown Peninsula offers not only Historic Home Tours and Horse and Carriage rides down cobblestone streets, but Panoramic Views of the Atlantic Ocean complete with daily boat tours to Fort Sumter - here, also, the Cooper River meets the Ashley River as it enters the Atlantic and Marina and Boating activity add to the water craft and scenery. Downtown Charleston has historically been a good Real Estate Investment over time. Many find themselves coming to Charleston to visit and quickly realize that it is the place of their dreams. Families, Retirees and Entrepreneurs alike find kinship here among Charleston's Waterways and Grand Oak Trees and Plantation Settings.

The outer Islands offer tropical Palm Trees and Beaches - you might think you were in the Caribbean at times.  There are those characteristics, however, of those quaint little beach cottages- and some of those are even historic. Porgy and Bess, for instance, was written in a now historic cottage on one of Charleston's barrier islands, FollyBeach.  Folly has a unique flair all her own, evident the moment you cross the bridge onto the island. Modern day homeowners have built here to take advantage of this fun community atmosphere as well.. Sullivan's Island is one of the coast's oldest beach communities and has recently added their own Historic District to protect their cherished beach properties. There are many beautiful beachfont mansions and villas here ranging in age from the 1800's to current day. Kiawah, Seabrook and Bohicket Islands are just a small drive from downtown Charleston and have become premier resort areas with an alluring ambiance all their own - bringing world class golfers, boaters, shoppers and beachgoers to the Charleston area.  See Mia's Newsletter article - Historic And Island Homes - also on this website. A new article comes out in these local island newspapers for these residents every two weeks.

Charleston's profile includes several Universities, Medical Facilities and Hospitals, as well as, a large government presence that provides a stable base for jobs and growth in the community.
